This burner design looks much better than the other burners you see. Burns less fuel and you have to look close to tell the difference in the different widths we have available.

The amount of glass depends on personal preference and desired flame appearance. General guidelines for covering a burner with 1 1/2" of glass when Lava Rock is used is shown below. Use glass on top of the lava rock to allow more oxygen to impact the flame.
NOTE: If no Lava Rock is used double the pounds of glass.
FIREPLACE
To find out exactly how much glass is needed for a fireplace: Multiply the front width (inches) x depth (inches) x fill level usually 3" to 4" inches of glass. Divide that total by 231 and then multiply by 12 to get your total glass in pounds
FIREPIT SIZE Pounds Needed:
13" inside diameter 10 lbs
18" inside diameter 20 lbs
24" inside diameter 30lbs
30" inside diameter 60lbs
36" inside diameter 80lbs

- A. First measure across from the left to the right of your fireplace in the center.
- B. Then measure from the front to the back in the center.
- Multiply together then multiply times 2 times .06
- A x B x 2 x .06 = Pounds of Glass Needed
Example: 27 x 13 x 2 x .06 = 42 Lbs. of Glass 
There are 19.25 cubic inches of glass per pound. About 10 pounds per gallon.
